With a long career in international development Jon brings considerable experience of human rights issues in the global economy. At Panos he ran initiatives in 2005-11 to promote media coverage, stakeholder communication and public debate on economic governance and poverty reduction themes, sharing lessons in bodies such as the WTO and World Bank. Before, at Consumers International, he managed global programmes on trade and economics dealing with market liberalisation and regulation affecting consumer rights.

Jon has undertaken a range of programme, policy and communication work for IHRB.  Alongside supporting management and development of IHRB initiatives in Kenya, Colombia and Myanmar in 2014-15, he has since reviewed IHRB’s approach to gender, written copy for IHRB's 2016 Top 10 list of business and human rights issues, and conducted background research for IHRB's work on mega-sporting events.

Jon’s work as a freelance researcher, writer, editor and consultant has also seen assignments with BBC Media Action (as a governance adviser) and ActionAid (engaging with issues such as food security and land rights, tax justice, aid, the post-2015 development agenda and women’s rights). Jon has specialist knowledge of Latin America and speaks Spanish and French.
