Lucy Amis
Child Rights and Sport Specialist, Unicef UK; Reseach Fellow, IHRB
Lucy has over twenty years experience in the field of business and human rights, and since 2012 has focused on finding solutions to adverse human rights impacts of mega-sporting events (MSEs).
Lucy is a Child Rights and Sport Specialist for Unicef UK working with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to embed human rights into the CGF's governance, management systems and operations, and to work with Games hosts to integrate human rights due diligence into the planning, delivery and legacy of the Commonwealth Youth Games and Commonwealth Games.
As an IHRB Research Fellow, Lucy focuses on mega-sporting events and human rights. Lucy was the research lead on IHRB's mega-sporting events work from 2011-2016, covering policy research, day-to-day management, partner relations, and giving strategic advice to mega-sporting event Organising Committees in Glasgow (2014), Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2020).
From 2000-2009 Lucy was the International Business Leaders Forum Business and Human Rights analyst. Prior to that Lucy was a researcher for EIRIS, having previously interned for arms control think-tank BASIC and Senator John Kerry. From London, Lucy holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics.
