About the Event

The need for a just transition is set out in the preamble to the Paris Agreement, which cites “the imperatives of a just transition of the workforce and the creation of decent work and quality jobs in  accordance with nationally defined development priorities”. But what is a ‘just transition’, and how can  MDB policies, finance and advice help support one? How are countries integrating a just transition within  their NDCs and long-term low GHG emissions and climate resilient strategies? And what do partnerships  in support of a just transition look like?  

From just coal transitions to equitable access to green jobs, the panel discussion and audience Q&A will further explore:

• practical examples of the policy support and finance that MDBs can provide, and
• the partnerships and networks  that will be crucial to delivering them.
