Seafarers' Rights - What's Working, What's Not, What's Next

Overview

Join industry leaders, government, and seafarers' rights organisations to debate how to push forwards on improving seafarers' lives

IHRB and the Rafto Foundation for Human Rights, along with the Philippines-Norway Business Council and MINTRA, invite you to an industry breakfast meeting to discuss progress on seafarers' rights five years on from the publication of the Delivering on Seafarers' Rights Code of Conduct, and where we need to go from here. We will present new research on the human rights situation of seafarers worldwide. This is a big part of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) - where it is now, where it's going.

This event takes place ahead of the Crew Connect conference on maritime crewing, which will include talks on crew supply, costs and competence. This breakfast is about the people carrying that, so this will be your chance to have this top of mind before Crew Connect starts.

Speakers will include the Norwegian Ambassador, government representatives, global charterers and shipping companies, and seafarer champions.

The event is free, invite-only, breakfast included.
