Yun Gao
Yun Gao began her career as a practicing lawyer in China in the 1990s. After completing advanced studies in Switzerland, she joined the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.
From 2002 to 2012, Yun worked as a Legal Officer in the ILO Declaration Department and a Programme Manager of the Better Work programme. From 2013 to 2019, Yun led Ethical Trading Initiative's Regional Office, covering countries across East and Southeast Asia. Since 2020, Yun has worked as an independent consultant specialising in corporate HRDD and sustainability across various sectors. Her work includes researching HRDD risks, advising on remediations, and developing and delivering supplier training on issues including core labour standards, workplace harassment, working hours and wages.
Yun holds a LL.B from a leading law school in China and an LL.M from University of Lausanne. A native Chinese speaker, she is fluent in French and English. She has also authored or edited prominent publications for both the ILO and ETI.
