Land, Labor and Climate - Agroecology and Agrarian Reform for a Just Transition

How can land use by communities protect our biomes, ensure food sovereignty, and generate dignified livelihoods?
During London Climate Action Week, Oliver Gordon, lead writer and research for IHRB's JUST Stories – a global search for stories successful just transitions – will join Fundo Brasil for an in-person conversation on the strategic role of agrarian reform, land rights, and territorial public policies for a just ecological transition.
Hosted by Labora - Fund for Decent Work, the event will highlight how popular and community-led land use — anchored in agroecology and agroforestry practices — can protect biomes, ensure food sovereignty, and generate decent livelihoods.
In a conversation moderated by Ana Valería Araújo, Executive Director of Brazil Fund for Human Rights, alongside Camilo Augusto Santana (Landless Rural Workers’ Movement of Brazil), María Leonor Yonda (National Agrarian Coordinator, Colombia), and Nick Robins (London School of Economics and Political Science), panelists will also discuss how these solutions can be strengthened through public policies, collective organising, and philanthropic support.
