Multilateral Forum on Business and Human Rights, Mexico City
IHRB is co-organising the Multilateral Forum on Business and Human Rights in Mexico City on September 23, 2026 from from 8am – 6pm (local time).
The Forum will bring together agribusiness, civil society, government, and international actors, to discuss how to advance the business and human rights agenda across Mexico and the North American migration corridor, with a focus on labour and environmental rights.
Run jointly with CIERTO, Stronger Together, Proyecto Periplo (driven by Fundación Avina), and AHIFORES, the Forum will focus on:
- Trade agreements and corporate human rights commitments across the region
- Corporate due diligence in agricultural supply chains
- Gender equality in agribusiness migration corridors
IHRB's Carmen Pedraza will be participating, sharing insights on how businesses can mitigate the risks of exploitation during the recruitment process for women migrant workers.
Speakers include representatives from Nestlé, Driscoll's, Consejo Nacional Agropecuario, Grupo Gigante/Toks, UN Global Compact Mexico, Equitable Food Initiative (EFI), Sedex/Smeta, the U.S. Department of Labor, International Fresh Produce Association, Secretaría de Economía, CECIG, Valora Consultores, Verité, and many more.
Sessions will be held in person and conducted in Spanish only, at the Club de Banqueros in Mexico City's historic centre.
The event welcomes all regional organisations working to advance responsible recruitment and human rights due diligence in agricultural supply chains.
