Andrei Vasiliev
Social Impact and Responsibility Manager, BESTSELLER
Andrei Vasiliev is Social Impact and Responsibility Manager at BESTSELLER, where he works on the implementation of human rights due diligence across global garment supply chains. His role focuses on responsible sourcing, risk identification and mitigation, and ensuring that engagement with affected stakeholders is central to the company’s sustainability and compliance strategies.
Over almost a decade, Andrei has contributed to the development and operationalisation of risk-based due diligence approaches adapted to diverse sourcing contexts. He has worked directly in factory settings and communities across South Asia and the Middle East, supporting the resolution of complex labour and human rights cases—including those involving freedom of association, gender-based violence, wage disputes, and other workplace rights issues. Much of his work has focused on creating space for dialogue and collaboration between suppliers, workers, and external partners.
He has helped facilitate the rollout of workplace programmes reaching over 160,000 women workers, aimed at strengthening access to health services, financial literacy, and digital tools. His approach is grounded in collaboration—working alongside peer brands, civil society organisations, employer associations, governments, and trade unions to address root causes and contribute to more systemic and sustainable improvements in the industry.
Andrei engages regularly with NGOs, multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs), and public institutions to support alignment with international frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance. Andrei has been trained by ILO on Dispute Prevention and Resolution and Conciliation/Mediation of labour dipsutes. While his focus is on practical implementation, he remains committed to continuous learning and adapting to complex local realities.
