Giulio Ferrini

Head of Responsible Building and Value Chains, IHRB

Expertise

Giulio has over twelve years of experience leading initiatives that tackle social and environmental injustice. He has a deep understanding of sustainable development, environmental policy, and human rights frameworks, which he leverages to develop multi-stakeholder solutions to existing and emerging issues.

Current work

Giulio leads IHRB's Responsible Building and Value Chains area, which encompasses three connected workstreams: the Built Environment programme, Commodities, and Shipping. Across all three sectors, IHRB brings together businesses, civil society organisations and policymakers to advance business practice, shape policy and strengthen accountability. Giulio works with colleagues to develop workstream strategies, identify new initiatives, nurture strategic partnerships, and monitor impact.

Before IHRB

Giulio has worked across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. A chartered engineer, he has helped write national policy, planned major urban extensions, and built projects that transformed local streets and public spaces. He knows social justice and climate justice are inextricably linked. He loves bikes and (field) hockey.
