Expertise

Carmen has more than six years of experience creating and implementing communication strategies to engage stakeholders from different sectors and countries towards the human rights agenda, including actors from civil society organizations, public governance, and UN agencies.

As a Communication graduate, Carmen has experience with launching social media campaigns and measuring their impact. As a Master's graduate from HEC Paris in Sustainability and Social Innovation, she has gained knowledge regarding the current context and necessary actions for businesses to transition to becoming pillars of sustainable societies.

Current Work

Carmen is the Communications Officer for IHRB's Migrant Workers Programme. She develops, along with the Head of Migrant Workers Programme and the Head of Communications, the design, production, dissemination, and tracks the impact of the content for the Programme.

Carmen also leads the development of a new virtual hub offering tools, resources, and networking opportunities for brands, recruiters, suppliers, migrant workers, trade unions, and civil society organisations; and she also services the Programme’s website sections for all design and content needs.

 
Before IHRB

Carmen has professional experience with civil organisations as a collaborator in Amnesty International, in the public sector as a Communications Advisor at the Mexican Senate for the Commission of Child Rights, and with international organisations by developing projects for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and as a Communications Officer at the Permanent Delegation of Mexico at UNESCO in Paris.
