Giulio’s work aims to tackle social and environmental injustice in the built environment. He has worked in the private, charity and public sectors, leading work on new standards, emerging policy and the delivery of programmes to deliver healthier and fairer cities.

 

Current work

Giulio leads IHRB’s Built Environment Programme, working to build a community of human rights leaders across the built environment sector, advancing standard practice in the private sector, testing the Framework for Dignity in the Built Environment through pilot projects and shaping emerging policy across the world. 

 

Before IHRB

A chartered civil engineer with a background in Environmental Engineering (MEng from UCL), Giulio has worked in planning consultancies, local and national government and charities in the UK. His work has mostly focused on city-shaping, from long-term strategies to the detailed design of streets and public spaces. He is particularly passionate about ensuring marginalised communities are prioritised in the fight against the climate emergency. He loves bikes, trains and (field) hockey.
