Tokelo has over seven years of experience accelerating the transition to a sustainable future for people and the planet. She has a wide technical background on sustainability topics including nature, sustainable agriculture, youth inclusion, climate adaptation and finance. Tokelo’s expertise include project management, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, leading and conducting research.

 

Current work

Tokelo is the Just Transitions Programme Manager at IHRB. She oversees the programme’s daily operations. Her responsibilities include policy research and driving project communications, working closely with IHRB’s communications team, fundraising and donor management, stakeholder engagement and events coordination. 

 

Before IHRB

Prior to her role at IHRB, Tokelo worked as an Associate at the TNFD Secretariat. In this role, she managed and led several projects that ensured that the voices of a diverse group of stakeholders informed the TNFD recommendations. She has also held roles that involved managing various sustainability research projects and leading market engagement efforts with multiple stakeholders. Tokelo holds a BSc in Chemistry and Applied Statistics from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security from the University of Galway.
